Ireland

We spent a few days in Ireland last weekend and it was fantastic. It's a beautiful place and we would recommend it to anyone. Friendly people and spectacular scenery. We hired a car and drove around the south-west coast. We spent our first night in Cork which was a nice place. The second largest city in Ireland.... only about the size of Toowoomba!
Our next stop was the famous Blarney Castle. This is the view from the top.

The castle and the tower. The grounds of the castle are lovely and very well kept.

Our next night was at a B&B in Dingle. It was such a cute little village on the water. We enjoyed one of the many local pubs and the Guinness and cider went down well too. Posted by Picasa

Dingle & Ring of Kerry

We took a drive around the Dingle Peninsula which was spectacular scenery. This is near Slea Head.
Another shot of Dingle Peninsula

Bloody Irish traffic!

This is on our drive around the Ring of Kerry. Another gorgeous scenic drive. The pictures do not do it justice.

Top o' da mornin' to ye

Here are some more photos of our last day in Ireland. More beautiful scenic drives and plenty of great views. We stopped at this waterfall just outside Killarney.
This is Lough Leanne which is a large lake outside of Killarney. Beautiful clear reflective water early in the morning!

This is the "Ladies View" from the top of the Black Valley looking back towards Lough Leanne.

And finally here is a shot from Healy Pass which cuts through the Beara Peninsula on the south-west coast of Ireland. It was a great trip with breathtaking scenery and we hope to make it back to explore the rest of Ireland.  Posted by Picasa
