I Love New York

After Iceland, we spent about 3.5 weeks in the US after Easter, starting with New York. We spent about 6 days there and had a ball. It's an awesome city - truly one of a kind. There is so much to see and do. It was unusually cold when we were there. On our last day NY had the second rainiest day they had ever had - not great for tourists. But all was good as we went to see Mamma Mia on Broadway and it was great. Had a blast in New York.

Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park that was John Lennon's favourite. There is a memorial to him there. It's just across from his apartment where he lived and died out the front. Yoko Ono still lives there.

We stayed on the upper west side close to Central Park. It is huge!

This is the famous Empire State Building.

This is the famous Broadway. We went to see Mamma Mia at the Winter Garden theatre which was fantastic.

Madison Square Garden in the heart of NYC is the home to the NY Knicks and Rangers, but unfortunately there were no games on whilst we were there - the only thing on there was the circus. So we checked that out - not quite as exciting as a game though!

We had a big day shopping at Macy's. It is the biggest department store in the world! It is 8 floors high and takes up a whole New York city block.
